INTERVIEW:

1. As far as your writing goes, what are your future plans?
   Currently, I am finishing up a sequel to Lost Until You. It explores Cole’s past and really extends the story. I also have ideas for more books in this series with the other characters in the gang. Outside of this series, I am halfway through a whole new story. Just picture small town country and a hot mechanic!

2. If you could be one of the characters from any of your books, who would it be and why?

I would definitely be Lila, Camryn’s best friend in Lost Until You. She is definitely the fun friend, but beyond loyal to those she loves. I just love her sense of humor.

3. If you were the casting director for the film version of your novel, who would play your leading roles?

Mila Kunis could definitely play my main female character, Camryn. I actually think I pictured her when I would describe Camryn’s physical characteristics. For Cole, I feel like he’s a mix of Ian Somerhalder and Bradley Cooper. They are both striking men and Cole carries that same quality.

4. When did you first decide to submit your work? Please tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big step?

I wrote Lost Until You four years ago and my grade partner of the time, who is also a freelance editor, offered to edit my work. She really loved the story and encouraged me to send to agents. I ended up with an agent, but last year decided to part ways with her. That prompted me to send to Evernight Publishing and really the rest is history!

5. Do you outline your books or just start writing?

I tend to write the ending of my story first. From there I outline each chapter before I write it. I often go off the outline, so I just use it as a loose reference.

6. Do you have any hobbies and does the knowledge you’ve gained from these carry over into your characters or the plot of your books?

Not so much a hobby, but a career. I am teacher and that definitely helped me write Heidi’s character in the book, who happens to be a teacher.

7. Do you have an all time favorite book?

The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is my all-time favorite. It began my love for reading and introduced to issues outside of my very protected environment. It’s still my go-to with my own seventh grade classes each year.

8. Have you started your next project? If so, can you share a little bit about your book?

I am almost finished the sequel to Lost Until You. The story of Cole and Camryn continues, but this time it’s in Cole’s point-of-view. I love this one because the reader gets to see Cole’s past and how he got to Sea City Island. It really explores his pain that seems to rear its ugly head. It also introduces new characters to the story.

9. Who is your favorite actor and actress?

Bradley Cooper is my favorite actor. I really love everything he does, whether it’s a comedy or a drama. The added bonus is he’s a Philadelphia Eagles fan and I have so much love for my hometown team! I am torn with a favorite actress. I love Jennifer Lawrence because she’s so talented but seems so normal and real. Also love Anna Kendrick because Pitch Perfect movies are my guilty pleasures. Actually, I’m  watching the second one as I answer these questions now!

10. What is your favorite reality show?
I am an HGTV girl through and through. I love watching all those shows. I just wish I could put their ideas into my home. My husband just cringes when I watch because  I always come up with these grand.

EXCERPT:

Grabbing a striped beach blanket hanging over the side of the lifeguard stand, he reaches for my hand to lead me away. As the houses that line the beach begin to disappear from sight, I have an idea about where we are going. When we reach the inlet, Cole boosts me up on the jetty and then leads me to an opening that is hidden behind the flat-top rocks that are exposed to the rough waters. He unfolds the blanket and spreads it over the damp sand between the rocks that hide us. The privacy of this spot makes me wonder how many teenagers sneak here for heavy make-out sessions.

As a small laugh escapes me, I tease, “So how many women have you brought here and had your way with?”

He guides me down and places me gently against the blanketed sand. “None at this point. But I’m hoping I can add one to my list by the end of the day.”

His muscles bulge from his chest and arms as he holds his weight over me. I sweep his arms away, slamming his body into mine. He inches my dress up over my neck to expose my braless breasts and black lace panties. My desire for him is uncontainable. I want to prove he is mine only.

“Cole, I need you inside of me. I want you to show me I’m the only one.” I moan as his bare chest grinds against my breasts. The erection beneath his boxers rubs against my core, making my body crave him.

He teases my mouth with his tongue as he travels down to my breasts, and grazes his teeth over my nipples. On top of my stomach, he circles around the edge of my belly button, causing my skin to tingle with every touch. As his head descends between my legs, I grab hold of his hair, knowing that where he is going I will need something to hang on to.
