INTERVIEW:

1. What or who inspired you to start writing? I’ve always had an overactive imagination.Writing stories is a great way to put it to use.
2. How did you come up with ideas for your books? Sometimes it in a dream, others, a place I’ve visited or even an event I witnessed.

3. What expertise did you bring to your writing? I was a paralegal for a criminal law firm before embarking on my writing career. One of the attorneys I worked for was an English major with a law degree. She made sure the documents were written right.

4. What would you want your readers to know about you that might not be in your bio? I was a radio DJ for a couple years. The job was fun, but the pay sucked. The benefits were that you met a lot of entertainers.

5. As far as your writing goes, what are your future plans? To continue writing for as long as possible. I’ve a cozy mystery series I’m working on. Finishing up the third book in A Witch’s Journey Series and just submitted the sequel to Charm Me (2016).
6. If you could be one of the characters from any of your books, who would it be and why? Pepper McKay from A Witch’s Journey. She inherited enchanted land and build a wildlife rescue on it with the help of a Navy SEAL. Wildlife rescue is one of my real life passions.
7. If you were the casting director for the film version of your novel, who would play your leading roles? For Mystic Maples it would be Joe Manganiello and Sandra Bullock.
8. Do you belong to a critique group? No I don’t. I do have beta readers. If so how does this help or hinder your writing?
9. When did you first decide to submit your work? After I was downsized from my IT position, it was my second professionI was tired of working for other people. Please tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big step? My husband and best friend encouraged me to polish one of my manuscripts and submit. The rest is history and I’m living the dream.
10. What is the best and worst advice you ever received? (regarding writing or publishing) Write from your heart and develop a very thick skin.
11. Do you outline your books or just start writing?I just start writing after completing a character worksheet for each character.
12. Do you have any hobbies and does the knowledge you’ve gained from these carry over into your characters or the plot of your books? Yes, I love to camp and the locations and adventures do find their way into my books.

EXCERPT:

It was a beautiful summer evening lit by a full moon. What harm could come from simply popping over to Mystic Maples, digging my toes into the earth and see if there is any truth to the rumors? She shrugged. Sis wouldn’t have told me about it, if she hadn’t thought it worth investigating. Right?

She toed off her shoes, pulled off her socks and straightened. With a snap of her fingers she left the room without a sound and landed smack dab at the edge of the maple trees. Glancing around, she could see the house in the distance and the outline of the sign. “Good, I’m in the right place.” She wandered farther in among the trees, the dirt beneath her feet was cool. Wiggling her toes deeper into the earth, she felt the warmth of the day and something else—a connection.

Several trees had a slight glow to them, then it was gone. Am I imagining…She raised her arms out from her sides and turned her face to the starlit sky letting the magic surge through her.  It had been almost a year since magic of any kind called to her. It felt so good, she was lost in the moment.

Suddenly a male voice broke through her revelry. “What are you doing here?”

Her heart thundered in her chest. She hadn’t heard a sound. Yet, there he was standing not three feet from her, hands on hips, and glaring at her.
