INTERVIEW:

1. What or who inspired you to start writing?

I have always loved to write letters and cards when I was little and my parents always told me to follow my dreams. My mom always helped me with my writing and ideas. If I showed her something, she wasn’t a fan of she would tell me and not act like she loved it.

2. As far as your writing goes, what are your future plans?

Write now I am working on other projects such as my blog and podcast, but I have a draft finished for my third book. So hopefully I will continue with it sooner or later.

3. If you could be one of the characters from any of your books, who would it be and why?

I would be Ella because she is a badass event planner and girl boss and I want to be just like her in that way.

4. If you were the casting director for the film version of your novel, who would play your leading roles?

I have always thought about it and had a few ideas for Ella and Daniel. My Ella choices would be Jessica Lowndes, Anna Kendrick and Alexandra Daddario. My Daniel choices would be Zac Efron, Liam Hemsworth and Alex Pettyfer.

5. What is your favorite reality show?

I love the bachelor franchise and the real housewives

6. Can you tell us a little bit about what it was like to write a series?

I originally only intended to write With Love, Ella, but after I knew there was more that could be said and I was being asked if I was writing a second one by readers. You can’t decide to the fans. It made me even closer to my characters and their stories.

7. Do you have any hobbies and does the knowledge you’ve gained from these carry over into your characters or the plot of your books?

I used to want to be an event planner and I was for a while before I couldn’t work due to my car accident. I used my knowledge to make her work as authentic as I could. I also used my favorite coffee drinks and wine.

8. Have you started your next project? If so, can you share a little bit about your book?

I have my first draft written of my third book, but I haven’t touched it in a while due to working on my other projects (speaking, podcast and blog)

9. Who is your favorite actor and actress?

My all-time favorite actor has always been Zac Efron.

10. Do you outline your books or just start writing?

I usually outline because it helps with not having writers block. As I write I sometimes just end up changing things, but it’s nice to have a path at least to start.

Ella noticed that Daniel was starting to get fidgety and had a nervous energy. She held his hand and smiled at him. He kissed her hand and held them tight. “Ella, you have always been my best friend and for the past six years, I have been lucky enough to call you the love of my life. We may fight at times, but I know that I could never be without you by my side. Words could never describe how much you mean to me. You are the reason I wake up in the morning and the reason I never want to go to sleep at night. When I think about my future, the only thing that I know for sure is how much I need you in it. You are my everything.” He grabbed a box out of his pocket and got down on one knee. He looked her right in the eyes and said, “Will you do the honor of making me the happiest guy in the world and be my wife?” Ella was shocked. She shouldn’t have been surprised, as this had been a long time coming. But still, she didn’t think it would happen now when her life had just fallen apart. Tears formed in Ella’s eyes.  “I…uh…I need a minute.” Ella said before slipping her heels off and taking off down the beach.

Alexa Randolph is the author of Daniel, Ever After, which follows With Love, Ella.  “It was so fun to be able to watch my characters grow from my first novel to this one,” Alexa says of her contemporary romance novel.  “My heart hurt when theirs did, and I felt like I was a part of their world.”  You can always find her typing away at the keyboard, crafting romantic short stories or dreaming up characters and plots.
