INTERVIEW:
1. What or who inspired you to start writing? I’ve always been an avid reader. I still am, while pregnant with my second son I had a lot of time on my hands and started writing.
2. How did you come up with ideas for your books? My characters just come to me and I begin to tell their story. Sometimes driving down the road or folding laundry. I really hate when they come to me in my dreams. UGH! They talk to me all night and I play the dialogue out all night unfortunately when morning arrives, I can’t grasp the ideas.
3. What expertise did you bring to your writing? I don’t have any formal writing degrees or such in my background. I write what I like and hope others do too. But no matter what my writing is something no one can take from me and I’m proud of my accomplishments.
4. What would you want your readers to know about you that might not be in your bio? I’m a huge advocate for Rescues. In the past 6 months I’ve rescued 2 dogs. I hate the thought of seeing any unwanted fur babies in cages.
5. As far as your writing goes, what are your future plans? I plan to keep writing for myself. I’m currently working on a YA book about one of my rescues. I also have 2 Romance novels I’m working on one set in Historical Scotland and the other is the 2ndbook in my 9/11 series.
6. If you could be one of the characters from any of your books, who would it be and why? That’s a tough question. I would have to say Marcus. He has so much charisma and is so Bad Ass.
7. If you were the casting director for the film version of your novel, who would play your leading roles? I really can’t answer this question as I’m not much of a TV watcher. If I’m not reading, I’m writing.
8. Do you belong to a critique group? If so how does this help or hinder your writing? No, I’m not part of a critique group. But I do love corrective criticism, it really helps to get my creative juices flowing.
9. When did you first decide to submit your work? Please tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big step? My first book was self-published. I did some research and decided to do it for myself. I’m not sorry that I did that but am also happy that my publishing company eventually republished the book.
10. Do you outline your books or just start writing? I just start writing, no plotting, no outlines. I write by the seat of my pants. Some days I’ll write nonstop and sometimes it may be months before I pick up a pencil. I can’t force the words so when my muse talks, I listen.
11. Do you have any hobbies and does the knowledge you’ve gained from these carry over into your characters or the plot of your books? I love spending weekends fishing and riding ATV with family so some of the funny or not so funny experiences from our cabin do make their way into my books.
12. Do you have an all time favorite book? Shadow Dance by Julie Garwook. Love me some Noah Claiborne.
13. Can you tell us a little bit about what it was like to write a series. I loved writing a series as much as I enjoy reading a series. It gives me the opportunity to visit old friends and see how their story is progressing.

EXCERPT:
Dylan moved to stand behind her. “Come on, Jilly; give me a chance to prove I’m not the poacher you think I am.” Jilly sighed, tired of fighting for everything and everyone, tired of being alone. Sable lived with her but she seldom left her bedroom. It might be nice to have a conversation with someone else and Dylan was right they did share a lot of the same interests. “Okay, dinner and a movie. I have to work at the bait shop until seven. I’ll meet you at my place after I close.” she conceded and climbed onto the bench seat of her truck; the slamming of the door echoed in the now quiet back road. “Great, I’ll see you then.” Dylan looked to make sure her back was turned before fisting his hand and bringing his knee up “yes!” he mouthed while doing a little victory dance. Jimmy watched the whole thing from the tailgate of his pickup and smiled before lifting another chip to his mouth. “Later, Jilly.” he waved as she pulled away. Jilly winked as she threw a treat out the window which Jimmy caught one handed. “See that the old girl gets that, will ya?” Jimmy laughed and saluted her with his pop can. “You’re a trial, Jilly. You’ll drive him nuts,” he said to himself as she was already flying down the road with the dust trailing behind her. He tipped the can to his mouth and swallowed the last drops of the cola. All was good; Dylan needed someone special in his life and he’d always had feelings for Jilly. Things were about to get very interesting. He dusted the crumbs from his Levis and jumped off the tailgate of the old pick-up and rubbed his hands together. Let the fireworks begin.
