Ripped from her family at the top of Infinity Cliff, Kimi McKenna finds herself thrust somewhere into the future. Dark elements threaten to destroy the earth unless Kimi can work together with the white witch to stop the destruction. Confused by her mate’s role in the conspiracy, she refuses to acknowledge the connection. But amidst raging fire and attacks on the people she is coming to hold dear, she allows Maska O’keefe into her heart.
Maska O’keefe has loved the beautiful shapeshifter for years. Unable to save her life years ago, he vows to watch over her as he is given a second chance to convince her that even though he is a witch and not a shifter, they are indeed soul mates. Kimi’s divided loyalties between her family and the cause she is now a part of will determine their relationship. Only the part she plays as the messiah can bring this to a conclusion in the final battle.

I started thinking about favorites in the context of movies when I was in college. I always had the 10 best in mind, but they changed often. As I recall, “Jules et Jim” was usually number 1. Books are harder to rank. I’d say in fiction, one of the most eye-opening books is MY NAME IS RED by Orhan Pamuk. In nonfiction, it would be James Carroll’s CONSTANTINE’S SWORD. I seldom go back and re-read a book unless I’ve forgotten that I read it before. As a self-contradiction, when I was a teenager (long ago) I re-read WAR AND PEACE every year for about five years.
That’s a difficult question as I would believe many readers have many favorites, but I still come back to one of the great American novels, The Great Gatsby, because it is truly an American tragedy. Or, who can pass up The Grapes of Wrath? Both great American novels from different ends of the economic spectrum (the American dream with perspective tragedy).
It is difficult to pick out one novel that is my favorate. I’ve read hundreds of books sine my first novel at age 11 called Star Ship on Saddle Mountain. Believe it or not, I read a Webster Dictionary at age 12. Was I a Nerd or did I just like reading? Anyway, I’d say reading Tess Gerritsen’s novels around 2008 increased my interest and love of reading, it motivated me to write my first novel Frozen Death. Medical mystery/suspence novels along with science fiction/fantasy novels is what I read and write.I’d say my favorate novel is The Stand by Stephen King.
This is a toughie, but I keep thinking back to “The Art of Racing in the Rain.” I love dogs, and this one is written from a dog’s perspective. I read it, then rented the audio book for a long trip, and my husband adored it, too. Unlike “Milo and Me,” it has an uplifting ending. LOVED IT.
