INTERVIEW:

  1. As far as your writing goes, what are your future plans?

I plan to continue writing and self-publishing. I’m currently working on Unbroken, the last installment of the Order Bound Series.

  1. If you could be one of the characters from any of your books, who would it be and why?
I would be Anne from the Order Bound Series. She’s a tough vampire who can fight and knows exactly who she is and makes no apologies for it. I wish I had half her moxy.

  1. If you were the casting director for the film version of your novel, who would play your leading roles?

Matthew McConaughey would play Declan because he’s a favorite of my husband’s and Declan is an embellished version of him. For Kassie, I would pick Kate Beckinsale. Those two would have great on-screen chemistry.

  1. When did you first decide to submit your work? Please tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big step?

My husband encouraged me to pursue my writing dream after a girlfriend of mine introduced me to a publisher who was interested in my work. That relationship didn’t end up work out, but I have no regrets. I loved writing so much I taught myself how to self-publish and I never looked back.

  1. What is the best and worst advice you ever received? (regarding writing or publishing)

I can’t say I ever received terrible advice; however, I’ve received a ton of helpful tips as I’ve navigated my way through the publishing world. The most valuable was to spend my money on professional covers and editing. When I first started out, I thought ProWritingAid was fine, which is far from the truth. There is no substitute for a human editor.

  1. Do you outline your books or just start writing?

I’m a total pantser. I want the characters to tell their story, and sometimes it takes an unexpected direction. It’s not out of the realm of possibility for me to shoot a character with little clue what happens next.

  1. Do you have any hobbies and does the knowledge you’ve gained from these carry over into your characters or the plot of your books?

My only hobby is reading. Nothing I read makes it into my books, although major kudos to the authors who make me google things. I love supporting other Indy authors and if you follow me on Goodreads, you’ll find reviews that will hopefully introduce you to some new book boyfriends.

  1. Do you have an all time favorite book?

My favorite book pick is going to come as a surprise to most people who know me because I’m always saying give me the heat, no young adult. It’s actually the Twilight Saga, specifically Breaking Dawn. The first Twilight movie got me started on the series and I’ve read all the books, more than once.

  1. What is your favorite reality show?

Jersey Shore will always be my favorite reality show. Love those meatheads. Even now, I’ll watch reruns and get sucked back in.

  1. Can you tell us a little bit about what it was like to write a series.

My Order Bound series was a total accident. I get bored easily and write stand alones. After I wrote Trinity, Jade’s parents’ tale haunted me and I went back and wrote the prequel, Holden. Then Trinity didn’t seem finished, so I’m continuing on with Jade’s daughter, Kayla, to finish out the series.

  1. Anything else you might want to add?

I love to hear from readers. Stalk me… I like it.

BLURB:

Kassie knew she was in trouble when her matchmaking best friend announced she’d gotten professional help in time for Valentine’s Day. Her friend’s attempts had always been hilariously ridiculous and never in a million years was Kassie expecting a hunky firefighter to show up on her doorstep.

Her online dating profile said she was looking for a superhero, and Declan couldn’t help but believe it had to be fate. But fate was a fickle mistress who left him to wonder who he was behind the mask. He’d been hiding in plain sight for long enough that he wasn’t sure if he even knew the answer. And until he figured that out, he had nothing to offer the world, let alone Kassie.

Love had already ended in tragedy once for Kassie, and she feared that history was doomed to repeat itself unless Declan could learn to trust her with his secrets. This time around, would it be enough to harden her heart for good, or would his deception restore her faith in second chances?

EXCERPT:

Excerpt from Kassie:

“When was the last time you went on a date?” Tiffany asked, leaning over the back of the sectional.

“That would be the time you set me up with your cousin Phil.” I shuddered and gave my her a bitchy glare. “I’m still not recovered.”

She rolled her eyes. “How long ago was that?”

“Six months ago,” I grudgingly admitted.

My best friend was a horrendous match maker, yet she continued to subject me to these dating rejects every time I was single. Not that she kept the good ones for herself. Oh no, there was the guy who manufactured meth, the one who left her to watch his baby while he got drunk, and my personal favorite, the one who removed all his natural teeth in favor of a gold grill not knowing he could get a snap on. Dumbass.

“Exactly,” she said with a smirk. “Besides, this time it’s different. I sought professional help.”

Wait a second, what did she just say? And more importantly what sort of fresh hell was she planning on subjecting me to?

“What do you mean, exactly, by professional help?”

She winced, her button nose scrunching up. “I may have created a dating profile for you on LookingforLoveOnline.com.”

“She only asked me that because I admitted to watching every episode of Sex and The City.” I hit my head against the back of the seat. “Never mind, I just heard myself, I am an idiot.”

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

Books transport us to a fantasy world where anything can happen, and once I overcame my difficulties in learning how to read, I was hooked. My mother always carried a Harlequin Romance with her, so it was only natural that I was drawn to that genre. There was something magical about the concept of eternal love and as I grew older, my tastes within the genre broadened to include everything from historical to dark.

My writing blossomed in much the same way. The first story I wrote was the Vanderbilt Affair, which was inspired by a field trip. Back then, I was fortunate enough to have an English teacher willing to nurture my love of writing by becoming my editor after school.

The writing bug stayed with me, but over the years, life got in the way, and it wasn’t until my early forties that I published my first short story in a Christmas Anthology. From there, I began writing and publishing across many sub-genres, with each book carrying some element of the unexpected.

When I’m not up to devious pursuits, like shooting a character, you’ll find me curled up with a book next to my dog, watching TV with my better half, or engaging in random water gun fights with my daughter and the neighborhood kids.
