Still jet-lagged from yesterday’s flight, Erin struggled to eat. Besides, she was too hungry for knowledge.
“You said ‘our ancestors.’ How do you know we’re related to the first Celts?”
Her grandfather’s bushy brows wavered. “Tradition and evidence. Can you think of a better reason than why the banshee calls for the deaths of our family, hastening our end if she can? Thanks to Our Lady, yours will be the first generation to be free of Her.”
Erin cut off a wild laugh before it became too crazy.
Free?
That bitch had stolen her childhood. Just as dreams of an unattainable boy had tainted her teenage years. How many young men had she slept with trying to replace him? How many weeks had she lost to the cloudy world of anti-anxiety medication? How many therapists had she lied to again and again about her dad’s death?
All because of one goddamned banshee.
Erin needed her out of her head and her life. For good.

If the God of Love couldn’t remove her fake feelings for him, then she’d go direct to the source who’d downloaded them into her brain. Once she found her old house, she’d find both Angus and the banshee together, because tonight was Date Night.
First, however, she needed some direction.
“I thought I’d go visit Da’s grave after we’re done here. Mom never let me say a proper goodbye, and I really should’ve visited already.”
I didn’t before because I was too afraid the banshee would be there.
